>> good morning and welcome back. i'm lisa robinson. >> and i'm mindy basara. thank you for joining us this morning. tony pann has a quick look at today's forecast. >> the heat is back. we will get up to 96 today. the heat index will be over 100. this is no big deal for us. would there used to this. temperatures are in the mid 70's. 76 at the airport. the dew points are in the low 70's. hot and humid is the forecast. there is a 30% chance for a thunderstorm today. the heat index will be up around 100. we will check the seven-day forecast coming up in just a few minutes. >> we are checking on the area roads. let's start on 50. we do have an accident involving an overturned tractor trailer.

it is on the off ramp. eastbound 50, most of the lanes of trouble are ok with the exception of that off rampart watch for that tractor-trailer still being cleared. on the south side, getting reports of a new accident. may find some lane closures there. also, there is closures on back river neck road and old eastern avenue because of a water main break. seeing some red on southbound 95 just south of route 24 near white marsh. and there are no delays in this. but we do have the accident at the off ramp on 50. harrisburg expressway checking out find just north of the beltway. the jfx is in great shape so far.

that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. now back to you. >> a water main break leaves nearly 10,000 essex residents without water. >> this happen between back river neck and old eastern avenue. kim dacey is live in essex with the latest. >> 10,000 people without water. workers are just starting to get on the scene to fix this water main. equipment is here. road closures in the area. these residents will likely not have water back until this evening. bottled water is going fast because nearly 10,000 customers are stocking up. they have no running water because of a water main break. it is the fifth water main break, according to jennifer matthews. >> you come home from work and there is no water.

>> i have to get up tomorrow morning to go to work. >> officials say they are not sure what caused the break. a contractor was replacing a sewer road around noon when he discovered a break in the connection between the mains. workers had to turn off the water to figure out where the break is. >> we do not know if the contractor hit a line. >> the main affected is 80 years old and has had several breaks over the past years. it is scheduled to be replaced by the end of business. a permanent fix cannot come soon enough. >> we have to take all the equipment out. we lose business. i have had to cancel my appointments. >> workers did it come up with a temporary fix. residents should have their

water back on tonight. kim dacey, wbal-tv 11 news. >> investigators try to figure out why a light rail car derailed last night in baltimore near camden street spirit this as fans were exiting camden yards after the game. nobody was hurt. it is on a clear if anybody was on board. it continues to affect travel this morning. >> the woman found guilty of killing her husband is expected to be sentenced later today. more than a year ago, mary shot and killed her husband in their home. she then fired a shot at her daughter. the defense team argued she was not criminally responsible because of mental issues. authorities in michigan and northern virginia are on a manhunt. >> there are looking for a

suspect they could be behind a series of violent attacks in both states. >> police have released the sketch of a white man they say is responsible for stabbings of 15 men. five of the stabbings were fatal. >> we will apprehend the individual. >> authorities believe the man may be responsible for three violent incidents in leesburg, virginia. >> this is a violent individual. >> police say the suspect is in a two-e 20's and drives tone green and beige suv. he appears to target people on foot and who are alone. >> i don't think he has been lucky. i think these are crimes of opportunity. >> 16 of the 18 victims were

a high temperature around 96. the heat index will be around 100. there is a 30% chance for a thunderstorm. for now, to the news desk. >> a new study reveals girls are showing signs of puberty at an early age. there are concerns about behavior and their risk for breast cancer. >> the results are startling. more than 1200 girls between the ages of 7 and 8 were part of the study. the findings reported revealed that while the average age of the onset of puberty is 10 or 11, 15% of the girls showed purity at seven years old.

15% of hispanic girls and 23% of african-american girls bequest early development show signs for cardiovascular disease. >> doctors were the children are not emotionally prepared for puberty at such an early age. >> no one knows the exact cause for early puberty in girls. hormones and food, declining physical activity, and the rise in childhood obesity. >> you have to make sure your children are reading proper diets and exercise and that gain is not tooight bad. >> the mother of two -- >> i do not think a motion like they are ready to go through all of the changes the body goes through.
